A forearm balance with the legs open, in the studio at Brazier Yoga

The quieterside of Brazier.

Brazier started as a Jiu Jitsu academy, and the same idea runs through the yoga: training is a connection that runs deeper than the surface, and a room is measured by the people in it.

A class here is an hour of steady work. Breath first, then standing strength, balance and the long holds that open the hips and the spine, with arm balances and inversions for anyone who wants them. It ends lying still, which is harder than it sounds.

Some people come for the yoga alone. Some come off the Jiu Jitsu mats for mobility and recovery. Both get the same class and the same welcome.

01/Core values
01 UniteOne community across both rooms, so every student is part of it from their first class.
02 Inner strengthFound in the last few breaths of a hold, and carried out of the room with you.
03 Self balanceYour own practice, held to your own standard, until the body and the head arrive in the same place.
04 Empower upThe room lifts the person and the person lifts the room. Nobody gets better on their own.
02/Your teacher

Jéssica Zavattini

Yoga teacher

Jéssica teaches the classes on the Brazier Yoga timetable. Expect clear cues, an easier option for every pose, and an hour that leaves you feeling longer than when you came in.

03/Questions

Before your first class

Do I need any experience?

No. Every class is open to every level, and every pose has an easier version. Tell the teacher it is your first class and they will look out for you.

Do I need to be flexible?

No. Most people who start are not. Flexibility comes from practising, a little more each week.

What should I wear and bring?

Clothes you can move and stretch in, and water. You practise barefoot.

How do class packs work?

Buy a pack, then book classes from the timetable. Each class you come to uses one class from your pack, and each pack runs for a set number of days from when you buy it.

Do I have to be a Brazier Jiu Jitsu member?

No. Yoga is open to everyone. If you do train Jiu Jitsu with us, your yoga pack sits on the same account and the same bill.
